Leaders from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors from Arizona and Texas, along with representatives from three leading Washington, D.C. think tanks participated in a discussion on the challenges of developing and implementing immigration policies Tuesday, December 11th on the Phoenix Campus of Arizona State University. The forum involved more than a dozen Arizona State Legislators, US Congressional staff, Arizona Mayors, County Supervisors, Minute Man project leader, law enforcement officials, Mexico's Consul General, the editors of Arizona's largest newspapers, business and community leaders, and more.

The forum, an interactive discussion of leaders and leading experts on immigration, identified bipartisan action that can be taken to resolve the immigration policy controversy. The immigration issue has now been labeled the "third rail of American politics." The TCI website, AnalysisOnline, features an in-depth report on the forum, and the Knowledge@W. P. Carey website at Arizona State University, and You Tube also include content from symposium. The Carey School and TCI joined together to produce a video summary of the content from symposim.

Arizona's largest newspapers covered the forum. You can read their stories here:

The Wall Street Journal covered the forum as well to provide additional background on an indepth story on the impact of the new employer sanctions bill on business. The complete story is available here.

This forum was made possible by funding from the Thomas R. Brown Foundations as an invitation only event.
