TheThomas R. Brown Foundations,based in Tucson, Arizona, are dedicated to raising the quality of life and reducing barriers to opportunity in society. These goals can be achieved through expanded understanding and application of economic principles in private and public decision making. These values are consistent with Mr. Brown’s belief that the welfare of society is advanced through personal initiative and effort promoted through market economy and limited government.

Thomas Brown believed that a strong market economy is critical to the long term future of the nation and its citizens. He believed that through economic growth, the nation can provide more economic opportunities for more people. Mr. Brown also encouraged entrepreneurial values and was committed to expanding knowledge of basic economic principles in government, business, and society in general.

Mr. Brown believed that good public policy can expand economic growth and opportunity, and policy should be based upon sound, objective economic principles. His foundation advances the use economic principles in decision making by assembling and disseminating relevant objective information through a combination of strategic partnerships, educational and training programs, and sponsorship of expert analysis and research.
