One hundred and thirty Leaders from the public and private sectors and the media participated in the National Symposium on Immigration, Thursday, November 16, 2006, at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix.

Faculty and panelists included some of the nation’s leading experts on immigration. The Symposium took an objective, nonpartisan look at immigration policy and explored the tradeoffs involved in this contentious issue.

The Symposium illuminated the complexities of immigration in a global economy, present conceptual frameworks for understanding the economic and fiscal impacts of immigration, discussed the politics of immigration reform, and explored constructive policy options available to state legislators in grappling with immigration’s impacts at the state and local level, with a special report on immigrants in Arizona.

A complete report of the Symposium will soon be available on our companion website www.analysisonline.org and through www.communicationsinstitute.org.
