The economic crisis now being debated in Congress represents one of the most serious issues in our lifetime and will impact every town and city in America. It's vital that newspapers provide readers with accurate information and perspective on the local ramifications of this critical issue. SNA and AnalysisOnline held a Media Tele-Briefing on the nation’s economic crisis on October 13th.
Dr. Edward Leamer, Director of the internationally recognized UCLA Anderson Forecast, is the featured speaker for the briefing and will provide valuable insights on the nation’s current economic condition. Dr. Leamer will also respond to journalists’ questions during this 90-minute seminar.
Dr. Leamer was on the faculty of Harvard until he joined UCLA’s Economics Department in 1975 and has been at Anderson since 1990. He is quoted widely by media outlets throughout the country, most recently in a September 17th the Washington Post article on the relationship between recession conditions and unemployment rates, payroll jobs and industrial production.
The Anderson Forecast is an internationally recognized analysis of economic conditions, and provides quarterly economic projections for the nation. The Forecast combines the expertise of renowned economists with the latest computer based econometric models.
